Local studios are coming back in real life

I’ve heard from a few local studios — dance, yoga, Pilates — now that they can open their doors once again, and I will add more to this post as they check in. The governor reopened NYC studios (long after everyone else in the state had opened, I will note) last week, and now they can operate at 33 percent capacity along with other pandemic-related precautions like masks.

Of course this was too little too late for a few local businesses — Yoga Shanti, Lyons Den, QuickCryo, Outer Reach, The Wat, Xtend Tribeca, Exceed Physical Culture, Tribeca Health & Fitness and Kula Yoga have closed here permanently, and there are a few companies that we have yet to hear from.

YOGA SPARK
Lauren Porat from YogaSpark on Duane wrote to say they are running two classes a day this week, and will move to four classes a day next week, along with reopening specials.

DANCEBODY
The studio on Leonard opened on March 22. The 33 percent restriction means that spots are extremely limited. “The best way to ensure your spot is to sign up as early as possible and to please cancel if you know you will not be able to attend, so that someone else can.” The March class schedule is up now. Our April class schedule will be released on Thursday, March 25, with several more classes launching. See the class schedule here.

REAL PILATES
The studio on Duane is offering Duet Sessions, Trios, and Small Group Semis. “Watch the schedule as we gradually expand our In-Studio Reformer Semi + In-Studio Tower Semi offerings over the next few weeks based on your input and feedback.” Book sessions here.

SLT TRIBECA
Lauren tells me they are open! though the website is not yet up to date. Stay tuned…

  1. Any quotes from CrossFit tribeca?

  2. Lyons Den held onto their Chelsea studio location and have started live classes. Additionally, they have an excellent online platform, lyonsdendigital.com, that has multiple classes each day.

  3. Terri Barnett from Lyons Den (original teacher) has an online platform with 6 live yoga classes every week plus recorded classes and pop up events. She’s been a lifesaver for me during this time! Terribarnettlive.com
