LOMEX COMES TO WALKER
The Times has a feature on Alexander Shulan, the 32-year-old owner and curator of Lomex, a gallery dedicated to emerging artists. The first show, which opened last month, features painter Andrea Fourchy. The Times story notes that “Lomex is named after Lower Manhattan Expressway, the failed interstate highway proposed by Robert Moses in the 1960s, that would have bulldozed through SoHo, Little Italy, Chinatown and other vibrant neighborhoods.”

FAMILY SLASHED NEAR THE BATTERY
The Trib has a police report of a family of three — mother, father and 1-year-old son — being slashed in the face by a 30-year-old man near The Battery in the evening last week. “The victims are Hasidic Jews and police said the slashing is being investigated as a possible bias crime.”
