Sure, the hawk has flown off, but where was this prime perch in the neighborhood, caught by Sonia Stock?
Robert Ripps got it! It’s the top of the elevator for the subway on Chambers and West Broadway (in a rendering by Ian Berry, below) aka the south end of Bogardus Plaza. Clearly surveying his domains — and the squirrel quotient.

Looks to me like the top of the elevator down to the Chambers Street IRT station, on the edge of Bogardus Plaza, so Hudson Street just north of Chambers
