More Seen & Heard: Candidate forums coming up

MAYORAL CANDIDATES TALK ABOUT PARKS + MENTORS
New Yorkers for Parks will host the mayoral candidates in a discussion called ‘A New Vision for Parks & Open Space’ on Monday, April 19, 7 to 8p on Zoom. NY1 political anchor and reporter Juan Manuel Benítez will be moderating the discussion, presented by the New York Law School. Invited (though not clear if they are confirmed) are Eric Adams, Art Chang, Shaun Donovan, Kathryn Garcia, Ray McGuire, Dianne Morales, Scott Stringer, Maya Wiley and Andrew Yang. RSVP here.

New York Law School is also holding a student-led conversations with mayoral candidates, and though I missed mentioning the first one (Eric Adams and Kathryn Garcia) but the second is on Wednesday, April 28, with Andrew Yang and Art Chang, at noon. It will focus on candidates’ leadership and management philosophy, including influences, style, mentors, and lessons learned. RSVP here.

FILM FESTIVAL OPENS IN THE HEIGHTS
The Tribeca Festival (when did it stop being the Tribeca Film Festival?) will open with Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “In the Heights” on June 9 — in Washington Heights. It will also be screened simultaneously here at Brookfield.

EATALY IS BACK OPEN OUTDOORS
Eataly has reopened its outdoor seating area between WTC 3 and 4. It’s actually a lovely spot, since it’s off the street and ends at the memorial pools. Open from 8a to 9p.

DEBORAH REMINGTON AT BORTOLAMI
Bortolami Gallery will host a solo show by Deborah Remington (b.1930, d. 2010) featuring paintings and large drawings from each of five decades of her practice. “It is the most comprehensive exhibition to date by Remington, a reevaluation of an artist whose biomorphic abstractions defied categorization during her lifetime and remain stridently unique today, over a decade since her passing.” Remington was a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and a Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant. Through June 12 at 39 Walker.
