After a short intermission, Lola Tribeca is back open noon to 5, Monday through Saturday.
TRIBECA GRILL OPENS DOORS NEXT WEEK
Tribeca Grill, which had me worried for a while there, will reopen on Wednesday, April 28. Yay. To start: solely for dinner from 5 to 10p, Tuesday through Saturday.
NUTOPIAN EMBASSY IS GETTING CLOSER
I had originally heard a late April opening was in the cards. Might be down to the wire? I am just happy to see the lights on and the plywood off.
GITANO – GARDEN OF LOVE – GETTING RENOS
I thought it looked like they were dissembling Gitano (and now it is called the Garden of Love? didn’t it used to be the Jungle Room?) but a workman there told me they are actually sprucing it up in time for an April 29 opening and indeed you can make reservations already here.

Square Diner is open now, too.
I think Gitano has had/ has all 3 names ;). That place will be a lively outdoors spot once the renovations are done.

No, I don’t usually. Most folks know their regular places, and of course everything is at your fingertips on Google Maps. Also most every storefront business is listed in the TC restaurant and shopping guides if you need more specifics (though I have to admit it needs some updating…).
