Seen & Heard: Coziest seat in the neighborhood

TABLE FOR TWO ONLY
Khe-Yo carved this table for two out of what must have been a display window next door to their entrance, and these cute folks were kind enough to let me catch it in action.

MAMAN POP-UP AT COCOON
Maman will host a pop-up bake shop open to the public (through the side entrance) starting tomorrow and every Saturday and Sunday through May at Cocoon on Greenwich and Duane. Hours are 9:30a to 1p and will include cookies, quiche, croissants and beverages — coffee, coconut lemonade, lavender honey iced matcha and decaf pear almond tea.

THE SQUARE DINER HAS REOPENED
Thanks to B. for the heads up!

7-ELEVEN COMING TO CHURCH
Just in time for Slurpee season. B. caught the new signage at the 7-Eleven’s new digs at 110 Church and Park Place — the old DeJaneiro space.

MOMOFUKU OPENS SSAM BAR AT SEAPORT
I loved Bar Wayo, which closed last May, so was glad to see Momofuku made good use of this very pretty space at Pier 17. It closed its East Village Ssäm Bar and reopened here. The chef is Eunjo Park, who headed up Momofuku’s Korean restaurant Kāwi in Hudson Yards. It opens to the public today. More TK when I can get over there.

BIRD WATCHING AT THE BATTERY
The Battery and NYC Audubon will host bird watching events on Wednesday mornings at 8a, to groups limited to 15. The tour guide is Gabriel Willow from Audubon. Reservations required and more info here.

  1. Maman pop up sounds lovely. I went there this afternoon and got myself an iced hibiscus tea.
