Seen & Heard: Church Street School block party Sunday

BLOCK PARTY + ARTS ON WHITE
Church Street School is hosting its annual block party — called The Happening — on Sunday, June 6, noon to 4p. from 12pm – 4pm. There will be live music, group art projects and workshops, food, drinks, a sale to support the school’s scholarship program and more. Art projects include tile decorating, weaving, printmaking and other collaborative projects. See more info here.

GOVERNORS ISLAND LATE HOURS FOR JULY & AUGUST
Governors Island will extend its weekend hours on Fridays and Saturdays till 10p, as they did last summer, starting JULY 4 (I am putting that in caps so you don’t think it starts now). Ferry tickets for late Fridays and Saturdays are available online starting today.

FRENCHETTE BAKERY OPEN SEVEN DAYS
Frenchette Bakery on Church is now open Monday to Friday, 8a to 4p, and Saturday & Sunday, 8a to 2p. Plus I noticed the seating is now open inside in the arcade. Also they deliver.

L&O ADDING TO THE STREETSCAPE
In a cobbler’s shoes kind of situation, I was teasing Larry at L&O Frame that his window was always empty, but he said was too busy this past year — and its true, he was mobbed with customers — to fill it. Now there’s even a daisy.
