Seen & Heard: Buddha Bar opens July 13

BUDDHA BAR OPENS JULY 13
This has been a long time coming: Buddha Bar will open July 13 in the former Megu space at 62 Thomas — a site that has been empty for five years. You can read more about that progress here and stay tuned for an intro to the space. Chef Andrew Riccatelli has held former leadership positions with Jean-Georges, Bobby Flay, Bagatelle and most recently David Burke.

OUTDOORS ON THE HIGHWAY
Despite the location right next to the highway, Sant Ambrose actually has a bucolic little set up next to its Brookfield outlet.

JOKR EVERYWHERE
P. first spotted the Jokr sign at 5 Franklin, and now I seem to see it everywhere — it’s an app based super quick food delivery service, as in to your door in 15 minutes.

LAND BACK AT AMERICAN INDIAN MUSEUM
The Museum of the American Indian was marked with a “land back” tag for the political movement that seeks to re-establish indigenous people’s political and economic control over land that has historically belonged to them prior to colonization. N. caught the shot.

  1. Residents on Thomas St & Duane St are not looking forward to this opening. Their last location in the Meatpacking area had constant complaints from residents regarding noise, crowds etc. This club is too big to be located on one of the narrowest streets in Tribeca.
