Seen & Heard: Sidewalk cafe for kids only

KIDS CURBSIDE AT DOWNTOWN YOGURT
Are there any other sidewalk cafes set up just for kids? I haven’t seen one. You can also reserve it for parties, provided you meet the height requirement.

250 WATER HEARING TONIGHT
The second hearing this month for 250 Water will take place tonight at 6p at Community Board 1’s Environmental Protection Committee; tomorrow the full board votes on the reso from the Land Use Committee. Tonight’s hearing will be on the brownfield cleanup at the site AND the project’s Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS). Topics will include resiliency, sustainability, construction, infrastructure, traffic, noise, along with the proposed mitigation plans. Both Community Board hearings will be in “hybrid” format, meaning you can participate online or in-person. The public is encouraged to provide testimony online.

FREDERICK HOTEL BAR WILL REOPEN
Community Board 1 did not approve a request for 4a hours from the bar at the Frederick Hotel on Chambers and West Broadway, and once again this got a little silly — the bar is entirely interior with their own guests upstairs. The request was every day till 2 and 4 on weekends. (The Patriot and Ward III (RIP) both operate till 4, though committee members say the Patriot has gotten complaints.) At the time of the original application four years ago they did not push the 4a hours — they agreed to come back. Now they are coming back, but the committee seemed to think they were opening for the first time? Committee members cited “the character of the neighborhood” and said they got a good deal last time by getting 2a… The hotel reopened June 6.
