Seen & Heard: Back in time on Hudson

BACK IN TIME ON HUDSON
The archivist at Martin Guitars– Jason Ahern — was good enough to send me this image he dug up of the block of Hudson between Vestry and Desbrosses, where C.F. founded the guitar company in 1833, making it the oldest in the US. This shot is from the 1920s, and by then the Martins had had enough of the dirt and grime of the city and decamped to Pennsylvania. But I am so happy to have this now — since there’s not an echo of it to be seen anywhere in that stretch of Hudson.

ONE SEED GETTING CLOSER
No official word yet on the OneSeed opening at 111 Murray, but it looks like it’s getting closer — and I love its little pink sign.

WORK OUT ON PIER 26
Tonight on Pier 26: a HIIT class on the sports court at 6:30. Register here.

SHADES OF THE RAINBOW
I had never seen Band-Aids to match different skin tones in a doctor’s office before, but here they were in the OneMedical office when I went for my shingles vaccine (though the Band-Aid I got for my ouchie was green and black camo). Band-Aid started it last year.
