A Brazilian clothing line takes showroom space on Vestry

The Brazilian women’s clothing line FARM Rio has taken the corner space on the corner of Vestry and Washington for a showroom. The company, which was founded in 1997, has a retail store on Prince Street, as well as in Miami and Venice, CA, but it is one of the most popular brands in Brazil with 77 stores there.

It was started by Marcello Bastos and creative director Katia Barros at a booth in a Rio marketplace and only last year broke into the US market. They have now made their way into Saks, Neiman Marcus and Anthropologie with their brightly colored tropical motifs. VogueBusiness has more.

And according to the company’s website, for each purchase they donate one tree to be planted in the Amazon rainforest. As of May 2020, they had donated 50,000 trees.
