NEW FITNESS STUDIO ON LAFAYETTE
My old dance pal A. wrote to say that there’s a new fitness studio just north of Canal called Inspire Inner Space — “a fusion of ballet technique, yoga and martial arts designed to build strength from the inside out”. It’s run by dance-exercise guru Nadia Zaki — and she teaches many of the classes. It’s at 161 Lafayette, just south of Grand. From A.: “It’s a great studio — classes are super hard. No going hung over for me – haha!”

LILAC HEADED TO SHIPYARD FOR REPAIRS
In case you were wondering, the Lilac has gone to the shipyard on Staten Island for some maintenance and restoration and will return in a few weeks. Volunteers will do much of the work, but it was made possible by a $10,000 gift from the Roux family.
