Seen & Heard: The rink is open

LACE UP YOUR SKATES
The Rink at Brookfield Place opened this weekend and from what I can tell has public skate from 2 to 9p most days. See more here. There’s also a “skate with Santa” schedule for three Saturdays, Dec. 4, 11 and 18.

LIT&LEAN CLASSES FROM LOCAL INSTRUCTOR
Liz Lindenmeier, who for years taught at Xtend Tribeca, is now doing her own thing called Lit&Lean — and teaching classes both online and in the neighborhood. There are some outside at Rockefeller, inside in Soho, and more to come. LL’s teaching background is in barre, Pilates, dance, cardio and strength training. Follow her here.

MATCHING FUNDS FOR 250 WATER LEGAL FIGHT
A lower Manhattan family from Children First — the non-profit group out of Peck Slip School that has been fighting the construction for 250 Water — has offered anonymously to match all donations to the Seaport Coalition Legal Fund up to $10,000. They are looking for 100 donations of $100 each. Click here to donate. Plus this is the first time I saw this model — the view is looking west from South Street up Peck Slip. It happens that I took that same photo on Friday, below.

SIMPLE AS WATER PROMO
The producers of the HBO documentary “Simple As Water” installed these white boards that people can write on. The film is about families in Syria, displacement, separation, the impact of war and the connections between parent and child. Thanks to N. for the snap when it was first installed.
