What’s doing for the holidays

The attack of the Christmas trees on Greenwich has begun, and here’s what I have heard about so far for public holiday events:

SANTA IN WASHINGTON MARKET PARK
Sunday, Dec. 12, 1 to 2p
Santa will be pedaled around in a pedicab and will be collecting letters from kids as he circles around the park and the neighborhood.

NY STOCK EXCHANGE TREE LIGHTING
Dec. 1, 2 to 6p, corner of Wall and Broad
Performers include The Harlem Globetrotters, The Salvation Army Band, Senri Oe, the Léman Manhattan Preparatory School Choir, the USMC Toys for Tots Kettle Bell Ringers, a special appearance from Santa Claus and much more. This is the 98th annual! More info here.

BPC HOLIDAY LIGHTS
Thursday, Dec. 2, 6p, South Cove
Celebrate the fifth night of Hanukkah and the annual tree lighting with appearances by Sing Harlem Choir, PS/IS 276 Advanced Chorus, and you-know-who!

BOGARDUS PLAZA ANNUAL HOLIDAY SING
Wednesday, Dec. 8, 4p
Performances by Church Street School students and faculty, and the Battery Park Adult Chorus. Plus Bluestone Lane will be serving hot chocolate and coffee and treats!

SEAPORT HANUKKAH FAMILY FUN DAY
Sunday, Nov. 28, 3 to 5
Ice carving, entertainment and a Hanukkiah lighting at 4:30.

SEAPORT CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING BLOCK PARTY
Thursday, Dec. 2, 5 to 8
Events at a lot of the stores, a toy drive, and the tree lighting at 6:45

Stockings With Care collects, organizes and delivers gifts to families in need. You may drop off new unwrapped gifts to the collection box in the lobby or at the Holiday Lights celebration on 12/2.
