PPOW WILL OPEN A SECOND GALLERY
The Times features PPOW gallery director Eden Deering, the daughter of one of the gallery’s founders, shot in Tribeca Park. “She will lead the programming at PPOW’s second downtown gallery, opening later this year a block away. It’s ‘a space for experimentation,’ she said. ‘We don’t always get to work with the artists that I bring in for group shows.'”

PACE COMES TO TRIBECA

AN UPDATE ON POETS HOUSE
The Trib reports on the effort of Poets House to recover after a flood last August. “On a Sunday last August, water from a broken pipe in an upstairs apartment in River House, where Poets House is located, cascaded into the space from the fire stairs and elsewhere. Already shuttered and reeling financially from the pandemic, Poets House is now in the thick of efforts to recover from the devastating damage.”

UTERINE CANCER COULD BE ADDED TO 9/11 LIST
A. sent this news that uterine cancer patients, who had long been excluded from 9/11 benefits. From the Kaiser Family Foundation health newsletter: “In November, an advisory committee unanimously approved a recommendation to add uterine cancer to the list of diseases covered by the program for first responders and people who were in the vicinity of the terrorist attacks. It’s the fourth-most-common cancer among women. But, according to the advisory committee, it’s the only cancer the program doesn’t cover. The program’s administrator is expected to make a final ruling by mid-2022.”
