In the News: Taylor Swift has another wacko fan

ANOTHER CRAZY FAN FOR TAYLOR
TMZ, The Post and the Daily News and everyone else reported that a man from Virginia drove his car into her building on Franklin and then ripped the intercom off the side of the building. I expected to see more action when I walked by earlier today, but it looked pretty serene to me. Maybe the fire hydrant is off kilter? Anyway, here are the details from Page Six: “Morgan Mank, 31, of Ashburn, was charged with DWI after a witness said he drove the wrong way on Franklin Street and ran into a residential building on the cobblestone street, near Hudson Street, at 3:15 a.m., according to the police. Mank ripped the intercom off the façade of 155 Franklin while “mumbling” about Swift, TMZ reported.”

MATTHEW BAIRD IS DESIGNER OF THE DAY
Surface magazine chose Tribecan Matthew Baird as its designer of the day for his cool work here and around the country, and lately in Maine and Philly. The lightning round: Concrete or marble? Concrete. High-rise or townhouse? Townhouse. Remember or forget? Remember. Aliens or ghosts? Ghosts. Dark or light? Dark.

ANDAZ HOTEL IS SOLD; WILL REOPEN AS A HYATT
Crain’s reports that the Hakimian Organization sold the Andaz Wall Street, “months after its lender, Annaly Commercial Real Estate Group, attempted to foreclose on the building when a $55 million loan went unpaid. The real estate development firm sold the hotel portion of 75 Wall St., which has condos above, to Navika Capital for $84.7 million, property records show, a far cry from the $125 million the company was seeking in March 2020. On Jan. 26, it will reopen as a 253-room Hyatt Centric.”

  1. Google street view is now obscuring 153 Franklin. Still visible in lots of other places, of course.

    • they should have blurred it long before now, not that it matters, if they want to find her they will, blurring does nothing imo. like you said, the details and pictures are available everywhere.
