52 WALKER GALLERY LENDING LIBRARY
The gallery 52 Walker now has a lending library of what looks like about 100 art books that can be checked out for four weeks (some reference books do not circulate but can be perused on site). You need to apply for a library card: email library@52walker.com to receive an application form, or complete the form in person at the gallery. I snagged this picture from Tribecan Bernard Lumpkin’s Instagram, since his own book — Young Gifted and Black, A New Generation of Artists — is on loan at the library.
HONORS FOR FRENCHETTE
I loved the comment from Vale that Tribeca used to percolate, and now it just simmers, but still. we’ve got a lot going on in the restaurant department and more coming. Frenchette got another James Beard shout-out, this time as a finalist in the Outstanding Wine Program.
THE CONRAD HOTEL TURNS 10
Doesn’t it seem that it’s been there longer?? But the Conrad is celebrating its 10th year in the Goldman breezeway. It converted from an Embassy Suites in 2011, eliminating the DSW in the process. Mentioning all this here because I had to dig back in the archives to jog my own memory — and then Applebee’s came flooding back.
CATCH THEM WHILE YOU CAN…
This has nothing to do with Tribeca (though I bet there’s a cherry tree in BPC Parks…) still I loved this graphic from the NYC Parks Department, and it’s a great tip for a Field Trip:
