Seen & Heard: CVS is open

NEW CVS IS OPEN ON CHURCH
If you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all — still, I will get in there and see if there’s anything special to report. In the meantime, they are open at the corner of Warren and Church — and open late. According to the CVS website, hours are 7a to midnight, seven days. Pharmacy hours are Monday to Friday, 8a to 9p; Saturday and Sunday 10a to 6p.

A UNO HAS LEFT THE BUILDING
It was very sad to see the windows of A Uno papered with an ad for a “reality” dating show on Netflix. Making billboards out of our storefronts — especially a beauty like that one — is my pet peeve. It will be a very sad day when landlords can get more money to put up a billboard on the windows of a storefront than use it for retail. It’s just so depressing. A Uno will open next month at 9th Street and University.

CITY HALL PARK CELEBRATES EARTH DAY
The newly minted City Hall Park Conservancy will host its first event on Saturday, April 23: an Earth Day celebration from 10a to 1p on the East Lawn of the Tweed Courthouse in the northeast corner of the park. There will be art projects and planting activities, as well as chances to chat with a park ranger. More info here.

HONORING FDNY HEROES
The New York City Fire Museum, which is committed to preserving the history of the FDNY, has a new exhibition up starting Friday through August celebrating the service of EMS and FDNY during the pandemic. The exhibition features dozens of poignant images – including a moving video in which FDNY EMTs and Paramedics reflect on their service during the last two years – as well artifacts curated from the public. More info here. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10a to 5p.

  1. Sadly, how long until this CVS is a victim of stealing?. I wish them good luck and hope they have good security.
