More coming, and some already here

CARLINA TRIBECA COMING THIS FALL
Osteria Carlina Tribeca, which will be run by Christina Andres-Cerutti and Moreno Cerutti, will open the Girello space on Varick and N. Moore but due to liquor license delays, they are now aiming for November. They are making just cosmetic changes to the space and will have 20 tables and 40 seats, plus 8 at the bar. Hours will be 11a to 11p six days a week, till 10p on Sundays. There will be no TVs and just quiet background music. They can’t pull off a curbside setup since there’s a bus stop there, but they plan to have a couple tables just outside the door.

PICK A BAGEL ALMOST READY?
A. sent word that the paper is off the windows at the renovated Pick a Bagel in the Goldman breezeway. Opening soon, I hope…

COCO SHACK OPENS IN SOHO
For you northerners, there’s a new Mediterranean seafood spot on Prince and Sullivan from restauranteur Pino Luongo (of Coco Pazzo on the UES in the ’90s and more recently on Spring) called Coco Shack. The inspiration is summers on the Italian coast and the cooking is by Yucatan-born Chef David Camara, who has worked under Michelin-starred chef Shaun Hergatt, who has Vestry in Hudson Square on Spring.

KFC OPEN ON CANAL AND BROADWAY
J. caught this shot of the window of 275 Canal between Broadway and Lafayette, promising a new KFC. The website says it’s already open, 11a to 10p, and 11p on weekends.

  1. And POPEYE’s Opening Soon on Futon between William and Nassau. I don’t do fast food when I’m in Manhattan, BUT I make an exception for Popeye’s!

    • ARE YOU KIDDING!! Seriously your attitude about the low-end places that have opened downtown, smoke shops ect has helped to destroy FIDI.

  2. No one is asking for more fast food in tribeca. It brings the dregs of the earth, awful smells, and terrible food. Why would anyone approve this?
