Seen & Heard: River to River starts tomorrow

ARTS EVENTS ON THE RIVERS
There are tons of arts events through LMCC’s River to River festival, which runs tomorrow through June 26. The installation above (Rose DeSiano merges past and present together with mirrors, historic images, and optical illusions) will be at The Seaport; there are lots of events at the Arts Center on Governors Island. See the schedule here.

HAPPY SWEET 16 TO GRANDAISY
Grandaisy celebrated its 16th birthday with free loaves and balloons — I caught sight of the bounty through the window, just a tease. Their hours these days are 7a to 5p Monday to Friday, and 8a to 3p Saturday and Sunday.

JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION IN BPC
The Battery Park City Authority will host its 6th annual Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 18, from 2 to 5p at Belvedere Plaza at the North Cove Marina. Members of the Federation of Black Cowboys will share a brief history of Juneteenth while bluesmen Michael Hill, Jerry Dugger, Junior Mack and Bill McClellan lead a Juneteenth Jam. Attendees will also have the opportunity to sing-along to songs of the Underground Railroad and the American Civil Rights Movement’s Freedom Riders, make their own Juneteenth flag and greeting card, and kids 3 years old or older can take a pony ride.

FITNESS CLASSES AT THE SEAPORT
The Seaport is running its free fitness classes again, with instruction from Pure Barre, Lyons Den Yoga and Stepbrothers Fitness (above). See the schedule here.
