Seen & Heard: Tribeca Grill gets top wine award

TOP WINES IN TRIBECA
Tribeca Grill has once again won Wine Spectator’s Grand Award, its highest honor, for 2022 — for the 20th year running. The award went to 97 restaurants across the globe, 13 in the city, for the best wine program in terms of breadth and depth. Other winners this year included Daniel, Eleven Madison Park, Jean Georges and Le Bernadin.

THE WALL STREET HOTEL IS OPEN
The Wall Street Hotel, at 88 Wall between Water and Pearl, opened last month. The property is owned by an Australian pearl jewelry dynasty — the Paspaley family — founded in 1935 with the collection of mother-of-pearl shells for the button trade. Now it is the largest producer of cultured pearls and has a huge portfolio in all sorts of other industries.

CLIMBING BOULDER ON GOVERNORS
The island has a bunch of new features including a Community Climbing Boulder created with the Trust for Public Land and North Face. Find it on the western promenade.

QUARTERBACK’S COBBLESTONE CIRCUIT
For his next trick, Tom Brady skips backwards on cobblestones as a promotion for his apparel line. What can’t that guy do? (He clearly still has ties in the neighborhood, though I thought he and his family had sold their place…)
