Seen & Heard: Governors officially staying out late

GOVERNORS ISLAND NOW OPEN AFTER DARK
Governors Island now has extended hours at Soissons Landing (that’s our stop from the Battery Maritime Building) every night of the week through the fall. Soissons Landing will be open until 10p Sunday through Thursday, and until 11p Fridays and Saturdays.

TENNIS CLUB COMING TO FIDI
I had seen a logo for Court 16 on the sidewalk in the neighborhood — don’t appreciate that one bit, but that’s not the point — and it turns out they are a tennis and pickleball club with locations in Gowanus and Long Island City and have plans for a location in Fidi opening later this year. I think it may be 28 Liberty, but they were being coy and didn’t even want to stay in touch. “You may go to our website for updates closer to the date.”

PHOTOGRAHS AT STEVEN AMEDEE GALLERY
In its first exhibition in over two years, Steven Amedee gallery at 41 N. Moore will host photographs by Eliseu Cavalcante, inspired by Josué de Castro’s 1967 book “Of Men and Crabs.” “De Castro was a Brazilian geographer, physician, writer and activist against world hunger. Cavalcante’s ongoing photography project examines those who depend on the mangrove ecosystem to survive and the delicate relationship between humans and this particular ecosystem.” Through Sept. 9.

DAYCARE + CO-WORKING AT BROOKFIELD
I had never heard of this combo, but it makes sense: the childcare company Big and Tiny, a childcare, preschool and co-working space, has opened its first New York City location at Brookfield, using the former Saks & Co. space, now a SaksWorks, for the adult part of the business. They offer full-day, preschool educational programs with extended hours, as well as programs for infants, toddlers and twos. On weekends, they will host a childcare-on-demand program that offers hourly passes.
