SAMMY BUTTONS EXPERIENCE IN DUANE PARK
The Friends of Duane Park will host another summer concert tonight, July 21, 6:30 to 8p, featuring funk musician Sam Pritchard on the keyboards. “The Sammy Buttons Experience” is what he bills his street performances, which have gotten the attention of more than a few New Yorkers — including the Times and Rachel Ray — for his pandemic pivot from bike messenger to full-time performer. His Instagram is great.

NY-10 CANDIDATE FORUM ON THE ENVIRONMENT
The New York League of Conservation Voters Education Fund hosted a candidate forum on Tuesday with The Cooper Union to discuss each candidate’s stance on environmental issues. It was moderated by Politico reporter Danielle Muoio. Watch it here on YouTube on the NYLCV channel.

R&B AT WAGNER TONIGHT
The River and Blues festival continues on Thursday at Wagner Park in Battery Park City. The show starts at 6p with a DJ and at 7p with Lady Wray, a Virginia-born singer/songwriter with an incredible range and a church upbringing that’s brought a pure, healing texture to her voice. More info here.

YOUNG TRIBECAN SINGLED OUT FOR FILM
Tribecan Samantha Sewell, a student at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, is a finalist in the nationwide Film Program competition held by The Museum of the Moving Image and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation for her film “Until We Keep Breathing,” a five-part series that chronicles the birth, growth, joys, fears and near-death moments in the life of a man living with Cystic Fibrosis. The prize will go to two filmmakers whose work integrates science or technology with a cash prize of $20,000 and a year-round mentorship from a scientist and film industry professional.
