A NEW EXHIBIT AT MUSEUM OF JEWISH HERITAGE
The Museum of Jewish Heritage has added a significant exhibit to its permanent collection. “The Holocaust: What Hate Can Do” offers an expansive and timely presentation of Holocaust history told through personal stories, objects, photos and film — many on view for the first time. The 12,000-square-foot exhibition features over 750 original objects donated by survivors and their families as well as survivor testimonies from the museum’s collection. See more information here.

A LENS ON THE CITY’S BIRDERS
Local photographer Claudine Williams started a personal project on New York City birders, photographing and watching them as they watched the birds. A segment of her project on women birders was recently published by Birding Magazine, the official magazine for the American Birding Association, a decades-old nonprofit whose mission is “to inspire all people to enjoy and protect wild birds.”

JR FOCUSES ON DE NIRO SR’S LIFE IN ART
J. found a treasure while digging around the Soho Memory Project website: a film made by the photographer and documentarian JR about Robert De Niro Sr.’s life as seen through the (literal) lens of his studio, which the younger De Niro has preserved. It’s a moving portrait, J. notes, and well worth a watch. See it here hosted on the Aimé Leon Dore website and titled “The Past Goes Fast.”
