P. caught sight of a new taco shop at the southwest corner of Canal and West Broadway — that really looks like Los Tacos No. 1 but is not: It’s Los Tacos Hermanos, which has two other locations at Sixth and 30th and Eighth and 38th. Filé Gumbo Bar, which opened in June at Church and White/Franklin, will open for dinner on Monday, August 29 (they are usually closed Mondays and Tuesdays) for neighbors and will offer a complementary glass of champagne and a few complementary menu items along with your dinner order. “The Neighborhood Social is a nice opportunity for locals who have not dined with us yet to get an exclusive opportunity to do so, and for us to meet and greet them,” said owner Eric McCree.
