Seen & Heard: Music tonight on the Lilac

MUSIC ON THE LILAC
The Lilac will host its annual Summer’s End Music & Art Celebration tonight, Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 6 to 9p, on the lightship docked at Pier 25. Peter Zummo & Friends will be playing on the Buoy Deck with sets at 6:30 and 7:45. Receive a poetic passport from performance artist Julia Justo upon entry.

JAPANESE TAILORS RETURN TO THE ARMOURY
I didn’t know this was even a thing, but during Fashion Week The Armoury on Duane usually hosts some of the world’s most prestigious tailors and artisans. Covid paused that, and while the Italians were able to return last year, this is the first time that the Japanese have been able to return. Find Ring Jacket and shoemaker Koji Suzuki there this week.

CELEBRATING THE BUTTERFLIES AND BEES
Battery Park City Authority will host a Migration Celebration as a shoutout to the bees and butterflies that cross through the park on Sunday, Sept. 18, from 11a to 12:30p at the South Cove. The day features art making, birdwatching, a nature walk, and a live show! A master beekeeper and chief melittologist from The Bee Conservancy will lead a nature walk discussing native bees and their habitats. You can register here.

TOURING THE TIN BUILDING
If my still weren’t enough to give you a sense of the place, this 3-minute video from New York Live walks you around with Jean-Georges.
