Seen & Heard: Soft open for Emilia George on Greenwich

MATERNITY SHOP OPENS ON GREENWICH
Emilia George, the maternity fashion company founded by Elle Wang, has opened its first retail space at 325 Greenwich on the corner of Duane. The store is open now, but will have a more formal opening after Sept. 21. “There are so so many kids stores in the area,” said Elle. “But moms need to buy more than just clothes for the kiddos.”

CO-WORKING SPACE COMES TO 200 BROADWAY
Industrious, a chain of co-working spaces, has taken a second-floor space at the Fulton transit hub, aka 200 Broadway. It features co-working spaces, private suites and conference rooms. Offices start at $536.

CLIMATE WEEK AT THE SEAPORT
There are several events scheduled this coming week for Climate Week at the Seaport, including visits aboard a Danish training ship starting today through Sept. 25; art workshops at Bowne & Co.; visits on the schooner Apollonia. All events are free.

NEW PRESIDENT FOR THE LMCC
The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council has chosen a new president: Craig T. Peterson, whose previous dual roles were at Henry Street Settlement and at Abrons Arts Center, a home for contemporary interdisciplinary arts on the Lower East Side. He was also previously the artistic director of Dance Theater Workshop, director of the Philly Fringe Festival and director of programs at Tribeca’s Gibney Dance. He has an MBA from Columbia and a BA in dance from Bard. LMCC was founded in 1973 to improve the quality of life in Lower Manhattan and the Financial District through free cultural programs in the World Trade Center Plaza; now it also runs programs throughout downtown and the Arts Center at Governors Island.
