PANEL DISCUSSION ON ART + MUNICIPAL ARCHIVES
City Lore, Artists Alliance Inc., and the NYC Department of Records and Information Services present Critical Lens: ART X CETA on Oct. 11, from 6 to 7p, a panel discussion spotlighting the Municipal Archives’ CETA Artists Project collection, as well as the history and significance of the federal Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) jobs program (1973-1981). The event is free and is at ​31 Chambers, Suite 111, between Elk and Centre St. More info here.

HONG KONG HANDOVER IN ART + DISCUSSION
Church Street School and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council will host a panel discussion and an interdisciplinary art presentation on the handover of Hong Kong and the impact on the Chinese American community in NYC on Friday, Oct. 14, from 7 to 9p, at 41 White. Artists include Chen Yi & Zhou Long (symphonic composition via video), Alvin Eng (acoustic punk raconteur), Nina Kuo (painting), Lorin Roser (video art/installation), Sammy Yuen (artist/illustrator) and Xu Xi 許素細 (novelist/essayist, longtime HK chronicler). The discussion will be moderated by Joanna C. Lee. This is a free event; RSVP to sage@churchstreetschool.org.
