Seen & Heard: Friends & Fashion lined up for this month

FRIENDS & FASHION SCHEDULED FOR OCT. 24-28
Friends & Fashion, the fab thrift store hosted every year by PS 234, is scheduled for Oct. 24 – 28 at 310 Greenwich, right next to Washington Market Park. New and very gently used designer and contemporary apparel and accessories will be for sale, donated by the parent community. Now in its 13th year, Friends and Fashion is one of the largest fundraising events for PS 234. All proceeds go directly to the PTA and allow the PS 234 students to have strong enrichment programs in art and music, as well as technology in every classroom and a well stocked library. Hours are Monday to Thursday 9a to 6p, and Friday 9a to 5p.

WATCH OUT FOR YELLOW TAP WATER
NYC DEP Bureau of Water & Sewer Operations will be activating a section of new water main on Worth between Hudson and Chatham Square today, Tuesday, Oct. 11, now that the NYC Department of Design & Construction has completed its water main work. Possible discolored water (yellow/brown) could come out of the tap in the area outlined above. The discoloration is attributed to the valve operations, change of flow or pressure. If you have discolored water, run your cold tap water until it clears. If the problem persists, you can file a 311 service request for DEP to follow up.
