Seen & Heard: Healthy Joe’s has closed

NO MORE HEALTHY JOE’S
I could have sworn I saw Healthy Joe’s, the fast casual on Murray, open recently. But it seems it’s closed permanently now. The website no longer works and Google reports it is closed for good.

BENEFIT SHOPPING AT AZTECH MOUNTAIN
The new skiwear shop on Hudson at Duane, Aztech Mountain, is celebrating its one-year anniversary tonight with a shopping party and the installation of a mural by pop artist Ed Curtis. Plus 10 percent of proceeds will go to PS 234.

UPS STORE ON MURRAY HAS MOVED
The UPS Store on Murray and Church — where the folks are so nice — has moved to 33 Park Place between West Broadway and Church.

MARINES LOOKING FOR BMCC STUDENTS?
I have to assume the Marines, whose recruiting substation is at 165 Chambers next to McDonald’s (and not to be confused with the Army recruiting center down the street between Church and Broadway), are here staking out BMCC students on their way to class.

  1. Dear Ed, perhaps it was unintended but the wording “Marine’s staking out BMCC students” indicates a somewhat nefarious intent. The Marines are simply looking for good, well intentioned Americans looking to serve their country in the Marine corps. Our country needs more selfless individuals willing to make that commitment. Thank you.

  2. And don’t forget November 10th is the Marine Corps’ 247th Birthday. So to all my fellow Marines – Happy Birthday!

  3. Well stated, Rohin. And, thank you for your service, G.
