Seen & Heard: It’s almost gingerbread season

CHURCH STREET GETS ITS GINGERBREAD ON
Church Street School is once again hosting its funnest (IMO) fundraiser with the 30-year-running Gingerbread House Decorating Workshops. You can reserve starting now for Saturdays & Sundays, Dec. 3 to 18, 2p and 4p, at the school, 41 White. Or sign up for Thursday, Dec. 8, 3:30 to 5:30p, at Cricket’s Candy Creations at 200 Hudson. Each Workshop reservation includes a naked gingerbread house, endless candy and icing, live music and refreshments. (I still have fond memories of making a masterpiece at the Bubble Lounge, then dropping it on my way out.) There are also take-home kits for purchase.

COLOMBIAN CRAFT COLLECTIVE POP-UP
Tribecan Gina Barac is using the space at 5 Harrison (at Staple) to present her curated collection of goods from artisans and designers from Colombia, Helecho Collective, including handmade home decor, jewelry and swimwear for men and women. Nov. 14 – 20, Mon-Sat 11-6 and Sunday 11-3. Gina travels to Colombia four times a year to source the collection. Also 5 percent of net profits will be donated to Hogares Bambi, a refuge helping at risk Colombian children.
