ONE WHITE’S MARKET WILL OPEN THIS WEEK
One White Street is expanding its footprint with the opening of Rigor Hill Market on Nov. 16 — a brick-and-mortar in the former Clementine space for the products from its farm in Columbia County. Expect the current Tuesday farm stand + more since they also were approved for a liquor license for wine and beer. Hours will be 7a to 7p, if their CB1 plans stay in place.
ART OF THE BOOK AT THE LIBRARY + TALK
The New Amsterdam Library on Murray will host a show titled PICTURE/BOOK, an exhibition of original art by 17 members of the Federation of Modern Painters and Sculptors paired with literary passages each artist chose to complement their artwork. Through Dec. 16 The Federation was founded in 1940 for the purpose of representing and promoting innovative and trend setting artists. The accompanying literary works include Emily Dickinson, Edward Lear, James Baldwin, Todd Parr, Virginia Woolf. Plus there’s an art talk on Nov. 16 at 5p.
FOR YOUR WINDOW BOXES?
A. spotted this helpful feature stationed at the Starbucks at Chambers and West Broadway: free packaged coffee grounds for your garden beds, for those who never brew at home.
ROCKEFELLER REBUILD MEETING
I think I already mentioned this, but doesn’t hurt to do it again, since this will be a big project: The Battery Park City Authority is currently developing a flood risk management plan for the area from North Cove Marina to a high point north of Chambers Street in Tribeca. Shorthand: they will be rebuilding Rockefeller Park to mitigate floods. The hybrid (in-person and online) Public Scoping Meeting is tomorrow, Nov. 16, at Stuy.
