Skating season is back

GOVERNORS ISLAND WINTER VILLAGE
The winter village set up at Colonels Row on Governors Island opens today, Nov. 17, with expanded public skating hours. There’s a 7,500-square-foot skating rink, games, cold-weather food and drinks, and warming fire pits. The rink will be open Thursday and Friday, noon to 5:30p, and Saturday and Sunday, 10a to 5:30p. and all New York City public school holidays, with additional Winter Village activities available seven days a week. SEAPORT ICE
The ice skating rink will return to the Seaport on Nov. 22, in the space between Pier 16 and 17, offering free admission skating, with skates available to rent for around $23, but there is a discount for local residents. Aurora, an expansive overhead light art installation designed by Ithaca Studio, will span the rink and feature unique light displays emulating the Northern Lights. The rink is open daily and you can book in advance at theseaport.nyc/ice-rink.

THE RINK AT BROOKFIELD
No word on the specific date, but the Rink at Brookfield is coming this month too. Public skating hours will be Monday to Friday between 2 and 9:15p; Saturday, Sunday and holidays between 9a and 9:15p. Sessions are an hour long with 15 minutes in between for the Zamboni. More info here.
