Part 2 of the guide includes more great gifts in the clothing and shoe department. Pry that mouse out of your hand! And get outside for a stroll and some old fashioned shopping. See links below for entry 1, and more to come for jewelry, unique gifts and good eats.

AZTECH MOUNTAIN
42 Hudson at Duane
Tribeca born and owned designer shop with truly unique ski togs for men and women.
••• His and hers opportunity alert: the Loge Peak Ski Shirt, named after a run at Aspen, with magnets in the collar to make it a turtleneck while the fire gets started. $325
••• There are only 60 of these Double-faced Cashmere Hoodies, made by a guy in Italy who may be the only one who knows how to fuse 14-guage cashmere interlinked with a layer of silk. In four colors. $2800

THE ARMOURY
168 Duane | Hudson & Greenwich
These shop guys make serious clothing fun.
••• Not for men only, clearly, and not sexy, but better than wasting your money on a Duane Reade umbrella that will end up in a landfill: Armoury umbrellas, some with solid wood shafts, which the men will appreciate: $180 to $400.
••• Because we can’t resist driving gloves, the Adam Hairsheep Cotton crochet gloves by Hestra, my fave. $140.
••• And a third, because it’s nuts: the Three Kingdoms cashmere and silk scarf depicting 200 AD in China. $575.

MAHARISHI
38 Lispenard | Church & Broadway
The British men’s wear line blends Eastern and Western silhouettes and graphic influences with a military bent.
••• Their signature Sno Pant is in blues this year and fab. Plus it adjusts to different lengths. $765
••• I know we shouldn’t be encouraging bad habits, but the old school lighter is awesome. (It’s resting on the packable backpack, to balance things out.) $95 and $55
••• And a third, because it’s so specific and so cool: a fender for the biker in your life who can’t resist a puddle. $14

ALTON LANE
7 Harrison @ Staple
Custom suits and shoes styled on the spot. NB: check store hours.
••• Skip the decision making and give a gift card for custom-designed shoes or suit. The folks at the store suggested $400 for shoes and $900 for a suit, at the minimum.

HEMINGWAY AFRICAN GALLERY
88 Leonard | Broadway & Church
••• The shop is not the obvious go-to for fashion, but I’ve been buying these Maasai beaded belts from Kenya for the young men in my life and they are a big hit. NB: they are one of a kind. ~$85

THE CITY STORE
1 Centre Street at Chambers
For all things NYC, run by the city.
••• Tribecan Josh Bach’s CIVITAS tie is a map of downtown, in case you get lost on your way home. (He has other towns on his website.) $65.

TODD SNYDER AT THE LIQUOR STORE
2 White @ West Broadway
The “lifestyle brand” designer created the J. Crew store at the Liquor Store, and reclaimed the local landmark for his own line in 2019.
••• Todd’s wool and cotton jogger set in houndstooth, with matching track jacket and pintuck pants. $348 & $298.
••• Again, for a bit of color in this bland fashion season: Anderson woven belts. $165.

JAMES PERSE
257 Church @ Franklin
The LA skater dude wanted to make the perfect trucker hat, and ended up with a fashion line of elevated casuals.
••• Said trucker hat, only now in corduroy. In three colors. $95
••• Think LL Bean, only cooler. A sherpa-lined corduroy jacket with snaps. $495

RAG & BONE
228 West Broadway at White
Founded in NYC by a Brit 20 years ago, the line prides itself on “making shit that matters.”
••• The Dalton shirt in cotton and poly, for the kids’ soccer games. $325
••• These folks always have a cool jacket — this year, going for the Army buffalo Lane jacket. $895
