Whole Foods Market One Wall Street to open on Jan. 11

The Whole Foods Market in Fidi at 66 Broadway will open on Jan. 11 at 8a, and it seems the chain is calling the location “One Wall Street,” for the building it occupies.

The store is 42,000 square feet (the Tribeca store is 69,000) and its design, the company said, will pay homage “the Art Deco history of the building with Wall Street and Financial District inspired influences.”

Some other features of the location:

  • full-service coffee bar with drip coffee from Partners Coffee;
  • more than 1,000 local items from New York City and the surrounding area, hand-picked by John Lawson, local forager for Whole Foods Market’s Northeast Region: fresh pastas from Severino Pasta, mozzarella cheese from Lioni Latticini and vegan “cheeses” from RIND;
  • offerings from more than 20 local farms, including salads from Gotham Greens’ New York City farms, herbs from Square Roots and Omakase Berries from Oishii;
  • local seafood options include smoked salmon from Catsmo Artisan Smokehouse and Acme Smoked Fish, seafood cakes from Lagniappe Foods and oysters from West Robins Oyster Company;
  • local meat options include pork from Briar Woods Farms and sausages from Brooklyn Cured;
  • local beer options include Lifted IPA from Interboro Spirits & Ales, Wavetable IPA from Grimm Artisanal Ales, Vliet Pilsner from Threes Brewing and Sun Up Hazy IPA from TALEA Beer Co.;
  • Whole Body will have 100 local products, including body care essentials from LUX Naturals, ginger shots from Annie’s Ginger Elixir and hand-poured candles from Scrumptious Wicks;
  • the pizza station will be self-service.

The One Wall Street store will also include one of Whole Foods Market’s first-ever Local and Emerging Accelerator Program (LEAP), which provides mentorship, education and the potential for financial support to promote business growth.

Hours will be 8a to 10p on opening day and there will be live music and gifts for the first 200 customers. See more info on that here.

Whole Foods Market will make monetary donations to support The Battery Conservancy, Rethink Food, Foodbank NYC and City Hall Park Conservancy. Additionally, Rethink Food is a recipient of Whole Foods Market’s Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program, receiving a refrigerated van to transport both perishable and nonperishable food to communities in need.

  2. Finally! But let’s get that Trader Joe next!

  3. Seems like a key difference between One Wall and the Tribeca stores is the upstairs seating. Is that true?

  4. Oh great! An upscale Whole Foods! At last!
