Seen & Heard: Break-in at Two Kids and a Dog

ATTEMPTED BREAK-IN AT TOY STORE
Both G. and T. wrote to fill me in: the new Two Kids and a Dog had its door shattered two nights ago and while police did not have a report on file even as of this morning, it was clearly not an accident. Hoping they didn’t get farther than the door.

RITE AID CLOSING IN BPC?
N. writes that the workers at the Rite Aid in Brookfield say the store is closing — and the photographic evidence she sent seems to back that up. Bummer. That was a BPC stalwart, and useful for those of us farther north too. (I am awaiting official word from Rite Aid.) And it seems it is following a string of closures in BPC.

FILE GUMBO BAR ADDING A JAZZ BRUNCH
Starting New Year’s Day, Filé Gumbo Bar will host a jazz brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11:30a to 4 with live music by “The Gumbo Trio” starting at 12:30p. They will move through the main aisle of the dining room. The menu will include shrimp and grits, chicken and beignets, omelets with crab and biscuits with sausage gravy.

TAP BEER TO GO AT HUDSON EATS?
This got me excited: Other Half brewing on tap at Olive’s at Hudson Eats. They told me they didn’t sell it in a growler, but I don’t see why they couldn’t fill one by just doing the math.
