The latest from Hudson Eats and Brookfield

Thanks to J. and A. for keeping me up-to-date on all things Brookfield and Hudson Eats, and especially for sending pics and saving me a trip. I will get over there this weekend to check out the celebrated Mah-Ze-Dahr Bakery, but in the meantime here’s some noteworthy action from the World Financial Center (do they still call it that??):

NIKE AND ARC’TERYX COMING SOON
The two sporty spice retailers are opening in the Winter Garden.

NUM PANG AND UMAMI BURGER ARE GONE
Upstairs at Hudson Eats, Umami had just reopened last spring but it is now closed. Num Pang is also shuttered.

J. added this: “Naya’s long lunch line typically extends well past empty Umami space. It seems to be the most popular restaurant at H.E.”

And a preview of Mah-Ze-Dahr:

MORE PJ’S + OYSTERS
Also from J.: “Heard the other day at PJ Clarke’s that they’re taking over the Cicci de Carne spot and expanding. That will give them a nice location on the corner overlooking the marina and the river for any oyster bar.”

  1. Nike is on the luxe side of the mall! Beginning of the end for that side?

  2. Most people with kids would understand- we are buying multiple pairs per season and there is nowhere in the hood to go. I totally get it. There are so many families downtown, and specifically in BPC.

    • Agreed – and helpful to have more retail in there that we will frequent. The luxury stores are great but we of course use them less.

  3. Mah-Ze-Dahr’s savory mushroom croissant is amazing! So is their olive oil cake though $7 per slice is too much! Coffees are decent and direct competition with Olive’s.

  4. Aww, goimg to miss Cicci. They have the best sandwiches in NYC. I said what I said.
