In the News: Savannah Guthrie lists her apartment

‘TODAY’ HOST SELLING TRIBECA APARTMENT
“Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie is selling her Warren Street apartment for $7.1 million, according to the Journal. She is looking to fulfill her “vision and dream of living in a townhouse,” the Journal said. She and her husband, communications consultant Michael Feldman, have lived in the neighborhood since 2012. They are asking $7.1 million for the 3700-square-foot, four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath unit. Sotheby’s has the listing here.

BPC USING DRY ICE TO GET TO RATS
The Post has a story about the Battery Park City Authority’s recent technique to suffocate local rats by dumping dry ice into burrows so that when it melts, it leaves behind carbon dioxide. Crafty! Supposedly dry ice doesn’t harm other wildlife or pets.

ANOTHER TIN BUILDING REVIEW
Adam Platt at New York magazine has a long review of the Tin Building and it starts with this: “‘This feels like a restaurant in one of the finer, more empty hotels in Dallas,'” my discerning friend muttered.

A FAMILY LOFT GETS A REDESIGN
Elle Decor has a walk-through of a Tribeca loft designed by Nicholas Obeid for a young family where he carved two living rooms out of the open floor plan.

  1. All these rat control methods seem horribly cruel and barbaric. Are there no adequate no-kill methods to deal with the problem? Maybe it’s more important to deal with the issue at source: food waste and garbage, etc.

  2. Regarding Rats – Noting that the city is now requiring all buildings to put their waste and recycling outside in rat proof plastic containers – bags alone are no longer sufficient. This should help cut down the population by reducing a significant source of their food.
