Green Ivy Schools takes Blue School space on William

Green Ivy Schools, which runs the nursery-through-8th grade Pine Street School and Battery Park Montessori, has taken the lease on the Blue School space at 156 William, since that school will close after this school year. They are calling it their Arts and Athletics Center and they will start operating there in June.

The 11,000-square-foot space will be used daily for gym classes, special class projects, after school clubs, co-curricular activities, school events, etc. The space will also be used for special events hosted by Battery Park Montessori.

The for-profit Green Ivy Schools was founded by Dr. Jennifer Jones in 2012; Pine Street School opened in 2014 originally as a nursery through 5th grade program. Their expansion to middle school launches this September with the addition of the first 6th grade class.

The middle school will follow the Common Ground Collaborative; the elementary school follows an International Baccalaureate World School program.

Pine Street School is between Nassau and William (in 40 Wall), so just about a half mile from the new facility.
