Seen & Heard: Local meal kits coming soon

MEAL KITS FOR LOCAL DELIVERY
Restaurant industry veteran (and Tribecan) Lee Weiss is popping up an on-demand meal-kit and pantry staple resource on West Broadway and Warren in the old Revolution Eyes space starting in a couple weeks. More soon when he and I can chat, but in the meantime: The Daily Grocer will stock meal-kits for immediate purchase — pick-up or quick, local delivery. First day will be March 13th, and from then on, Monday through Wednesday, until they find a more permanent space.

NERO LAB COMING TO 40 WALL
Luis Vazquez wrote to say that “Nero Lab [the Italian food court], first announced for the old Dean & Deluca space at 40 Wall in late 2019 and then never heard from again, is finally happening. They have applied for a liquor license for the March CB1 meeting. AND they will have outdoor seating. The space has been empty for around 11 years!”

POETS HOUSE REOPENING?
I happened to check the Poets House website and it looks like it is reopening this spring. The Battery Park City organization (it’s at 10 River Terrace at Murray) has a new executive director, Rob Arnold, who started in December. I thought it was gone for good when it closed in December 2020…

THE LAST OF THE BPC RESILIENCY HEARINGS
BPCA and Manhattan Community Board 1 will host the final two sessions of the resiliency construction plans for the parks in Battery Park City this month. The South Esplanade & South Cove is Monday, March 6, 6:30 PM, at the cafeteria at Stuyvesant High School; North Cove is Wednesday, March 15, 6:30 PM, at the cafeteria at Stuyvesant High School. At each workshop, there will be a brief presentation and a small group discussion with project experts. (Don’t hesitate to show up even if you don’t register.)

Here’s the post on the plans for Tribeca streets.
