Eater reports that ALF Bakery opened in Chelsea Local, the basement of Chelsea Market, where Pearl River also has its market, and is run by Amadou Ly who worked at Arcade Bakery for five years. On the croissant: “We are back to form with this stately croissant, which looks like grandpa’s winged armchair and piles layer after layer of pastry on its mohawk hairdo. The outside is firm, with a buttery interior.”

381 BROADWAY SELLS
Crain’s reports that 381 Broadway, the five-story pre-war office building on the northwest corner with White, just sold for $16.8 million to Wall Bridge Properties LLC. Interesting since this is now the heart of the Tribeca Gallery District and right next door to Marian Goodman Gallery, which is renovating the Grosvenor Building.

HOTEL INDIGO CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE
Yimby reports that construction is complete on 50 Trinity Place, a 28-story Hotel Indigo (originally planned as an ALoft hotel). “Designed by Peter Poon Architects and developed by FIT Investment Corporation, the 311-foot-tall structure yields 77,310 square feet and 173 guest rooms…located at the southwest corner of Trinity Place and Rector Street, diagonally across from Trinity Church.” The hotel is open to guests.

JENGA BUILDING PENTHOUSE DESIGN
Interior Design magazine features one of the full-floor penthouses at 56 Leonard — 5500 square feet designed from a white box my Meyer Davis plus 1600 square feet of terrace. “A super-large space should be zoned in subtle ways, making rooms without making walls,” will Meyer told the magazine. The designers arranged the furniture informally, with three separate seating groups in the main living area “so you can hop around and sit in different places.”
