Seen & Heard: Sailing season is underway

SEAPORT MUSEUM SETS SAIL
The Seaport Museum’s sailing season on the 1885 schooner Pioneer and the 1930 tugboat W.O. Decker starts May 24 with daytime, sunset, and programmatic sails. The rides are 75 minutes around New York Harbor with views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the Battery, and Governors Island. See the sailing schedule here. You can also charter an entire ship. (I did that on the John J. Harvey for my sister’s rehearsal dinner and it was the best party I ever threw.)

ONE WHITE ADDS BRUNCH
The restaurant One White Street has added Friday, Saturday and Sunday brunch, starting at 11:30. And A. sent this great photo of the restaurant’s pre-shift talk before dinner service. “One day I was home and heard a round of clapping and looked out my window — I was pleasantly surprised to see several people in uniform in a semi-circle in front of Todd Snyder around 3pm. A recent meeting appears to include the entire staff in the street around 4:30p. The pep talk usually lasts for 5 to 10 minutes and includes a mix of clapping, laughing and cheering. It’s such a joy to hear from my apartment. Happy little daily life occurrences in Tribeca!”
