Woman dies after falling out of 39 Walker

Police were called to the back alley of 39 Walker on Saturday around 5pm and discovered a 23-year-old woman “unconscious and unresponsive.” EMS transported her to Bellevue, where she was pronounced dead. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing, but The Post reported that it appears she fell or jumped out of a fourth-story window in the building’s stairwell.

Police told the Post that she was visiting from outside the city. Neighbors also said that she had stopped by Bortolami Gallery on the first and second floors of the building, and then somehow gained access to the stairwell and the rest of the five-story building.

“She was acting erratic,” a source told The Post. “She ripped the blinds down, opened the window and jumped out.”
