You don’t see this every day: C. sent this video of the new Warren Street Hotel dousing the block — and I am guessing the across-the-street neighbors — during what I believe was a test of its sprinkler system.

SOCIAL MEDIA TALK FOR PARENTS
The Seaport will offer a social media talk for parents at the Rooftop at Pier 17 on Wednesday, August 23, 6p. While the kids practice their jump rope skills with coaching from Double Dutch Lovers NYC, parents can attend a timely discussion about ways social media and screens affect the brain, featuring Dr. Heidi Bender, a certified neuropsychologist from New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine. TRIBECA PAC LAUNCHES 40TH SEASON
The BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, the longest operating performance venue in Lower Manhattan, will launch its 40th anniversary season this fall. PAC NYC WILL OPEN SEPT. 19
The new Perelman Performing Arts Center — PAC NYC at the World Trade Center — will open to the public on Sept. 19, with a ribbon cutting scheduled for Sept. 13. Join here. The first performance, a musical tribute titled NYC Tapestry: Home as Refuge, is sold out.
