Seen & Heard: Washington Market Park tennis court to get facelift

NEW SURFACE FOR TENNIS COURT
The Parks Department is resurfacing and repainting the Washington Market Park tennis court later this week. They’ll be posting signage soon with more details; the entire process should take about two weeks.

ROCK THE BLOCK STREET FAIR
Chabad Of Tribeca will host its annual outdoor street fair called Rock The Block on Sunday, September 10, from 11a to 1p on Greenwich between Reade and Harrison. New this year is a youth zone for ages 6-12 and there will also be crafts, face painting, corn hole, ping pong, a toddler area, a family mitzvah club project and more.

DUANE PARK PARTY ON SEPT. 10
The Friends of Duane Park are hosting their dinner party in the park on the evening of Sept. 10, but that afternoon, starting at noon till 3p, there will be a free party featuring a kids zone, music and a Restoration/Resiliency Project Tent to view potential designs for a further restoration of Duane Park.

CROWN SHY AT THE US OPEN
The folks from Crown Shy will be cooking at the US Open in the Food Village, where they are serving spicy citrus chicken fingers, tots and sticky toffee pudding.
