FOGO DE CHAO OPENING IN 3 WTC
Thanks to J. for spotting this one, and to A. for the pic: Fogo de Chão, the Brazilian churrascaria that opened its first American restaurant in Dallas in 1997 and now has dozens of restaurants here in the States, is coming soon to 3 World Trade Center. The NYC mothership is on 53rd. Their menu is generally grilled steak, but in 2013, they added new seafood dishes and Brazilian-inspired small plates. More when they open.

RECOGNIZING THE ‘ARCHITECT OF THE CENTURY’
One Wall Street has been a NYC landmark since 2001, but it just got its new plaque honor its architect, Ralph Walker. The plaque reads: “Built as the headquarters of the Irving Trust Company Bank in 1929-31, One Wall Street is one of New York City’s finest art deco skyscrapers. The 654-foot limestone-clad tower, suggestive of a fluted column or draped cloth, is enlivened by subtle setbacks, chamfered corners, concave windows, and a crystalline crown that originally contained an executive lounge. It is among the most significant works of Ralph Walker, of Voorhees, Gmelin & Walker, whom the American Institute of Architects honored as ‘The Architect of The Century’ in 1957. One Wall Street was designated an individual landmark in 2001 and sensitively converted to residential and retail use in 2022 by Macklowe Properties.”
