Seen & Heard: Celebrating the life of Rafael Viñoly

CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF RAFAEL VIÑOLY
A musical celebration of the life of Tribecan and celebrated architect Rafael Viñoly, who died in March, will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 8p, at Carnegie Hall. The performance will feature The Philadelphia Orchestra, led by Music and Artistic Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin, with guest appearances by Itzhak Perlman, Jonathan Biss and musicians from Jazz at Lincoln Center. The event will also launch the Viñoly Foundation, which aims to enhance the practice of architecture.  More information here.

PLANT RESCUE AT THE BATTERY
The Battery Conservancy is offering the plants located within coastal resiliency construction zones to Gotham Park under the Brooklyn Bridge, so both groups are seeking volunteers to help to dig them up and transport them on October 25 and 31 to Rose and Madison streets. Sign up here. Dates are Wednesday, Oct. 25, 11a to 1p, and Tuesday, Oct. 31, 9:30 to 11:30a. Email megan@gothampark.org with any questions and if you have a vehicle to help transport the plants.

ONE WHITE *DOG* COSTUME CONTEST
One White Street will host its second annual dog costume contest on Halloween Day — check their Instagram for a time.

SKELETINA AT GREENWICH ST. JEWELERS
Greenwich St. Jewelers, on Reade just west of Church, will host a “Bejeweled Trick or Treat” for kids on Halloween, Oct. 31, from 3 to 6p. “Skeletina” author Susie Jaramillo will also be signing her children’s book from 3 to 5p.
