METROPOLIS IS OPEN AT PAC NYC
Metropolis, the Marcus Samuelsson restaurant in the lobby of the new PAC NYC, or Perelman Performing Arts Center, is open now starting at 5p for dinner. Breakfast, lunch and brunch will start in December. Menu and contact info here.
CELEBRATE EVACUATION DAY OF 1783
The Lower Manhattan Historical Association will host the 10th annual commemoration of Evacuation Day, which marked the end of seven years of British occupation of New York City, on Saturday, Nov. 25. The group will assemble at 12:30p in front of Fraunces Tavern at 54 Pearl and process to Bowling Green for a flag raising at 1p. The event celebrates the day when the United States truly became independent in 1783. See more info here.
TOYS FOR TOTS COLLECTION
ARC Athletics will host a Toys for Tots collection party on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 1 to 3p at Bar 135 on Reade. Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate and enjoy some festive cheer. Toys for Tots was founded by a Marine Corps reservist and there will be two Marines there that day to collect the toys.
