Seen & Heard: Free senior memberships at Asphalt Green

ASPHALT GREEN FREE MEMBERSHIPS FOR 60+
Asphalt Green (212 North End Ave.) is offering free gym memberships to 200 adults ages 60+ who live in Community Board 1 (Battery Park City, FiDi, Seaport, TriBeCa) now through the end of the year. The application period is open through the end of the year. Once approved for the free membership, access continues indefinitely until you want to cancel. The free membership includes daytime access to the fitness center and pools and unlimited group and water exercise classes. As part of this initiative, the center has launched 10 new older adult-exclusive classes as well. Apply here.

DESIGNER’S FURNITURE FOR KIDS AT CLIC
Tribecan Anne-Sophie Rosseel, an interior designer, recently launched a children’s furniture brand called House of RoRo and she will have a pop-up at Clic on West Broadway and Thomas through the end of the year. Her goal is to create modern, sustainable and imaginative furniture for all ages. “It seemed like all juvenile furniture is either overly cutesy or plain boring,” she writes. (The business is named after her son’s teddy bear.) More soon.

TODD SNYDER BURGLARIZED
I did not get the police report yet, but a neighbor was walking her dog on Sunday when she saw police outside Todd Snyder at 2 White — the southeast window (on White) was completely smashed.

THE OYSTERS OF TRIBECA
The TV host Lauren Scala, a self-described “conservation nerd,” did a great feature on the oyster condos that Hudson River Park Trust has installed north of Pier 26.

  1. Re: Free Senior Gym Membership
Your text above says 60+ but the link says 65+

  2. Re Asphalt Green offer: The free membership comes with restrictions regarding times senior members may use the facility. Morning access does not begin until 7:50 a.m.

  3. The form has a problem, unfortunately. The date of birth can’t be written in.

    • Teaching you guys some new tricks since this is the third note I had about this: click on the month and you get a scrolling menu. Same with the year.
