Seen & Heard: Big lines at Barnes & Noble

BIG CLOSING SALE AT BARNES & NOBLE
The lines went almost to the children’s section at Barnes & Noble yesterday, with people lining up for books 40 percent off. The vinyl is 20 percent off and I bet there are even better discounts throughout the store. It’s all really sad. Carl Glassman sent me a note, reminding me that back in 2007 he interviewed me at the store on opening night. He also took this great shot of my now 18-year-old, when she was 2. It’s framed on my wall.

PHOTOGRAPHY SHOW AT THE OPENING GALLERY
The Opening Gallery will host a show of Dr. Norman Pastorek’s photographs from Jan. 15 to Feb. 14, with an opening reception on Jan. 16 from 6 to 8p at 42 Walker. Although he is best-known for his medical practice as a surgeon, Pastorek started out as a photographer and has not put his camera down in 50 years. The show, titled “Through My Lens,” will include portraits, city scenes, landscapes and flowers.

FULL HOUSE AT THE BIKE POD ON CANAL
Charlie Komanoff sent this tweet from the founder of Oonee, which installed the bike storage pod on Canal at the tunnel entrance. Looks like a full house.

  1. OMG, Pam, that 2007 of your toddler is gorgeous. And a reminder of Carl G’s prodigious photographer chops!
